I was going to start this post with a Irish-Catholic Guilt induced apology for not having posted in the past month due to how busy I have been. I'm fighting that urge. The first reason for this is that each month seems to get busier than the one previous. When I review my old posts, March 2010 Agent Johnny Utah is going to think that January 2010 Agent Johnny Utah is an asshole for not knowing how good he had it.
The second is that Agent Johnny Utah has nothing to apologize for. He lives in Las Vegas. He has a job that involves several titles that begin with "Chief." He drives a Dodge Stratus. He transitions into the third person for no particular reason. He is, in other words, very important.
That's my motto. Thanks Courage Wolf.
In all, work has been going quite well. It looks like I will be deploying this summer, a prospect that I am very excited about. I'm not at liberty right not to disclose the location but it will be an incredible opportunity as both an officer and an attorney.
My office has come together nicely from a social angle. We have a great collection of Captains that makes makes even the worst working days bearable. It also has lead to some great times when we are off duty hours.
Bringing in 2010.
We're not compensating for anything.
This represents the most training I have done with an M-4. Thanks Air Force.
I also successfully concluded my fourth court-martial today and another three just around the corner. Feels like I just wrote that post about that first court-martial. Needless to say, I am no longer shocked about the confinement officer from Security Forces coming over with the handcuffs and leg irons. I've actually started to look forward to it. I guess that modicum of humanity and compassion I had starting out as a prosecutor has now been quashed.

You super secret agent, you! It's exciting that you're being deployed. I only hope it's somewhere safe :)
ReplyDeleteAs always,
xoxo.
Well you be safe. My husband is starting JASOC and your blog is my way to get an idea of all that is going on there without being a nag. I loved it during COT and, now that I'm going to endure a TDY twice as long, I'll be devouring it again. Definitely be safe when you deploy.
